Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

If you wash your hands incessantly, check whether your door is licked through the night or keep rearranging furniture at home you may be a victim to a Compulsive Disorder.

Namita Singh is obsessed with washing her hands. The 28-year-old media professional washes her hands least 19 times a day. She always ashes her hands whenever she handles a door knob, when she touches money after she uses public transaction, when she presses the button on the lift and many other times in between.
Its an urge that she just cannot fight Singh could be suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Those suffering from OCD aren't necessary obsessive about cleanliness Some keep counting and recounting money checking and decking if doors have been locked, lights switched off or beds We well- Some are even paranoid Kant not stepping on cracks on the rotor pavement as Jack Nicholson's character was in the Hollywood movie As Good as it Gets.

Now don't get us wrote. It is normal to wash your hands throughout the day It is normal to check whether the iron is off or whether your door is locked at night But it is not normal if you wash your hands or check or recheck things so often that impedes your daily functioning. That is clearly a sign of OCD
