SHANKAR PALYA(SWEET & SAVOURY CRISPS)




INGREDIENT :

Flour - 125 gm.
Sugar - 200 gm.
White sesame seeds - 5.25 gm.
Cardamom powder - 2.5 gm.
Rose water - 2 drops.
Baking powder - a pinch.

Oil for frying.
METHOD :

Combine flour, baking powder, sesame seeds and cardamom powder water to make a stiff dough. Roll into a thick round disc, and cut parallel crisscross lines to form diamond shaped pieces. Heat oil in a wok, deep fry these pieces, drain and keep aside. Make a sugar syrup out of sugar and water, reducing to one thread consistency. Add rose water, stir and drop the pieces and spread out to dry. Store in airtight tin. Time taken -- 1 hr.

Serves -- 8.
