The Sun Temple at Konark acted as a beacon for sailors
for nearly a millennium while the great and architecturally
astonishing temples of Bhubaneshwar and Puri have drawn
pilgrims in millions. Meanwhile, holidaymakers have enjoyed
Puri's broad sandy beaches. Over 2,000 ago the fertile
delta on which Bhubaneshwar stands, witnessed one of the
most significant battles of India's history when Emperor
Ashoka, having massacred his Kalingan opponents, converted
to Buddhism and laid the foundations for one of the great
empires of world history.
Day 01 Arrival Bhubaneshwar
Upon arrival at Bhubanes hwar you will be transferred
to your hotel for a two-night stay.
Day 02 In Bhubaneshwar
This morning visit the 7th century Parasuramesvar Temple
and the Lingaraja Temple the 10th century Muktesvara Temple
& Rajarani Temple (11th century A.D). The afternoon
is free for you to take an optional tour to ATRI (42 km)
from Bhubaneshwar famous for its hot sulfur spring whose
temperature remains at 55 C and supposedly curse skin
disorders or NANDANKANAN (20 km) famous for Biosphere
Reserve, lion safari, white tiger safari and ropeway.
Day 03 Bhubaneshwar
- Puri via Santi Stupa at Dhauli, Pipli & Konark
This morning you will be driven to Konark (60 km), famous
Sun Temple piece of Orissan architecture and sculpture,
built in the 13 the century, the golden era of Orissan
art, is poetry in stone and on the World. In route you
visit Santi Stupa at Dhauli (4 km) built after the bloodshed
at Kalinga. In route visit to Pipli (20 km) famous for
Orissa handicrafts where you can purchase different type
of handicrafts. Afternoon reach at Konark, after lunch
visit to Konark Temple, evening arrival for Puri and transfer
to hotel. Meals and overnight at hotel.
Day 04 In Puri
This morning see the Jagannath Temple. The afternoon is
free and you may visit the long stretch of golden beach,
shallow enough to walk out a long distance. Meals and
overnight at hotel.
Day 05 In Chilika (The
Blue Lagoon)
Morning arrival for Chilika (50 km), India biggest Inland
Lake.
Spread over 1,100 square kilometers. Attraction within
the lake, BIRDS ISLAND - A haven for resident and migratory
birds, SATAPADA - An ideal place for viewing cavorting
dolphins, BRAHAMAPURA - a place of scenic beauty. Evening
return to Puri. Meals and overnight at hotel.
Day 06 Depart Puri
The morning returns to your homeward journey.
Day 06 Puri - Gopalpur
- on - Sea
You will drive this morning to Gopalpur (160 km) - on
- Sea where you will stay for two nights. An ancient seaport,
it is one of most beautiful, unspoiled beaches. Today,
it has a luxurious beach resort and offers excellent facilities
for surfing and sailing. Warm with gentle sunshine, the
golden beach is an ideal place to swim or laze around.
Day 07 In Gopalpur

The full day is free.
Day 08 Depart Gopalpur
to Bhubaneshwar / Puri
Today embark on your journey back to Bhubaneshwar / Puri
and then homeward.
